A rental car is a great idea to visit the Iguassu Falls, and a few other attractions of the city Foz do Iguazu. The city streets are well marked, and access by car to the tourist attractions is very easy. You can also rent a car and go to the Casinos of Argentina (just 30 minutes away across the border), or discover the magnificent Itaipu Power Plant (the biggest in the world). Another good tour is the Bird Park.
